Pennylesse Editions celebrates the e-conomics of abundance. Our mission is to increase the quantity of people who read quality writing. We sell our publications for a penny less than a dollar per electronic volume. Our name also recalls the lively writing (and spelling) of the Elizabethan Era, including Pierce Pennylesse, Thomas Nashe’s “inuective against enemies of Poetrie.”

Our first e-book’s author, Miguel Ángel Asturias, won the Nobel Prize for Literature. We offer one of his laureate works in its first authorized English translation: Clarivigilia Primaveral (Clearvigil in Spring). Asturias scholar Gerald Martin of the University of Pittsburgh hails Robert Lebling’s “excellent” translation.

With our launch in July 2011, we also offer two e-books by political and business communicator Joseph P. Duggan. The Zuckerberg Galaxy: A Primer for Navigating the Media Maelstrom commemorates the great media theorist Marshall McLuhan’s centennial. Give Paz a Chance is a collection of essays in media studies, politics and culture.
